Bitcoin and its peers were largely in the red during this week after the top cryptocurrency hit its lowest level for the year below $5,900 last weekend. There were brief episodes of rebound mid-week, but Friday morning the cryptocurrency market was in a sharp slide amid low volumes and Bitcoin set a new low for the year thus far.
